Vegan, Gluten free, Paleo + Refined sugar free. This fall favorite is the perfect breakfast, snack or dessert. It's full of healthy, wholesome ingredients and is SO easy to make. A little tart, a little sweet, this honey baked apple taste like the inside of an apple pie.
1/4teaspoonapple pie spice (or cinnamon + nutmeg mixed)
2teaspoonsraw honey (or maple syrup if vegan)
1/4cupfiltered water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Begin by washing off your apple and cutting it in half. Using a paring knife, cut out the core of each apple half. (Helpful tip: I sometimes use a small spoon to scoop out the remainder of the core).
Place each apple half face up in a small oven friendly bowl (or loaf pan). Sprinkle the apple halves with apple pie spice (or just cinnamon + nutmeg) and drizzle with honey.
Pour the water into the bottom of the bowl/pan and bake in oven for 45-55 minutes depending on how soft you like your apples. The longer you bake it the softer it will get. Remove from oven and let cool for 3-5 minutes. Top with creamy almond butter, pumpkin seeds + cinnamon granola to add even more fall flavor.
